Alimentaria is held at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue and fills almost all of its halls, organised into sector shows such as meat, dairy, drinks, food service and international pavilions.
Build-up is concentrated in the days before opening and dismantling starts as soon as the show closes, with working hours and loading slots set out by the organiser in the exhibitor manual. It is a large biennial fair: the biggest stands start building several days ahead, and unloading slots are allocated hall by hall.
Venue regulations worth bearing in mind:
Ideally, book your stand builder 3–4 months before Alimentaria, whether you need a compact trade show booth or a large island stand: that leaves time for 3D design, plan approval, production and ordering technical services. We build in our Barcelona workshop and take the stand to the venue by truck, with our own installation and dismantling crew. You deal with one English-speaking project manager and receive a single invoice with Spanish VAT. See our stand build and installation in Barcelona page and our exhibition stand planning checklist.

Alimentaria is the major international event for the food and drink industry, held at Fira Barcelona Gran Via and a meeting point for manufacturers, distributors, retailers and foodservice professionals from all over the world. At a show of this scale, your stand is your brand's first impression on thousands of professional buyers.
At Factoría Creativa we design and build custom exhibition stands for Alimentaria from Barcelona, right next to the venue. We know Fira Barcelona's regulations, build-up times and Gran Via logistics, and we put that knowledge to work for one goal: making your space stand out, attract the right visitors and turn the fair into real business opportunities.

Every stand starts from your brand and your product. We design spaces that put food at the centre: tasting and show cooking areas, integrated display cases and fridges, hygienic surfaces and a natural route that invites visitors to come in and stay.
We develop the creative concept, the 3D design and the look and feel so that your offer – gourmet, drinks, fresh produce, organic or ingredients – comes across as premium and distinctive compared with the rest of the aisle. That is our job as an Alimentaria stand builder.
We build everything in our own workshop and install it directly at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, so we control lead times, quality and finishes with no middlemen. Being close to the venue means a fast, well-coordinated installation with no last-minute surprises.
We handle the full logistics – transport, build-up, connections, lighting and dismantling – always in line with Fira Barcelona's technical regulations. International exhibitors get a single English-speaking point of contact and an invoice with Spanish VAT.

A good stand at Alimentaria does not just look good: it works for you. We design the space to make sales meetings easy, organise visitor flow and put your best-selling products centre stage, so that every square metre contributes to your trade fair goals.
360° management: from the initial concept to the final dismantling, one team is responsible for everything, so you can focus on looking after your clients.
Our design, architecture and production team delivers excellence on every project. Over 20 years of experience in custom exhibition stands, and clients such as Il Bocconcino and Audens Food at Alimentaria, back up our work at Fira Barcelona Gran Via.
We take care of every detail, from the creative concept to the final finish. We know that at Alimentaria your stand is your brand's showcase in front of thousands of buyers, so we design spaces that faithfully reflect your identity and put the product at the centre of attention.
We work with premium materials, the latest trends in exhibition design and a committed team, so that your presence at the fair is outstanding, memorable and worthy of your product.

We build and install the stand at Fira Barcelona Gran Via, ready to welcome visitors.
The next edition of Alimentaria takes place on 20–23 March 2028 at Fira Barcelona Gran Via (Av. Joan Carles I, 64, L'Hospitalet de Llobregat).
The price depends on the floor space booked, the type of stand (modular or custom), materials, and extras such as audiovisuals or furniture. As a guide, a basic modular stand costs from €3,000–6,000, a mid-size custom stand €20,000–30,000, and premium stands for major international fairs can exceed €100,000. Floor space is booked and paid separately to the organiser. Tell us about your project via our contact page and we will send you a detailed, no-obligation quote.
We recommend starting ideally 3–4 months before the show, to allow time for design, production and build-up. Shorter lead times are possible for urgent projects, but the earlier you start, the more options you have for customisation.
