Smart City Expo World Congress is held at Fira de Barcelona’s Gran Via venue. It brings together cities, public administrations and technology companies, with many national and regional pavilions.
Build-up is concentrated in the days before opening and dismantling starts as soon as the show closes, with working hours and loading slots set out by the organiser in the exhibitor manual. Institutional pavilions are often large and host several co-exhibitors, so the build means coordinating different companies within one space.
Venue regulations worth bearing in mind:
- Stand approval: the organiser asks for stand plans and elevations by a set deadline; we prepare and submit them for you.
- Electricity: the power supply is ordered from the organiser; we size it to your screens, lighting and equipment.
- Double-deck stands: they need signed structural calculations and specific approval from the organiser.
- Tech demos: screens, interactive models or vehicles need power, a data connection and sometimes specific venue permits.
Ideally, book your stand builder 3–4 months before Smart City Expo, whether you need a compact trade show booth or a large island stand: that leaves time for 3D design, plan approval, production and ordering technical services. Smart City Expo World Congress is held every November at Fira Barcelona Gran Via (Av. Joan Carles I, 64, 08908 L'Hospitalet de Llobregat, Barcelona). The 2026 edition ran from 3 to 5 November; we will publish the next dates as soon as they are confirmed.
How much does a stand for Smart City Expo cost?
The price depends on the floor space booked, the type of stand (modular or custom), materials, and extras such as audiovisuals, interactive demos or meeting rooms. As a guide, a basic modular stand costs from €3,000–6,000, a mid-size custom stand €20,000–30,000, and premium stands for major international fairs can exceed €100,000. How far in advance should I order my stand?
