Practical information for BIEMH exhibitors
BIEMH is held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (BEC) in Barakaldo, whose high, large-span halls are designed for machine tools and heavy equipment.
Build-up is concentrated in the days before opening and dismantling starts as soon as the show closes, with working hours and loading slots set out by the organiser in the exhibitor manual. At a biennial machine tool show, machines arriving by crane and special transport set the schedule, and the stand is built around them.
Venue regulations worth bearing in mind:
- Stand approval: the organiser asks for stand plans and elevations by a set deadline; we prepare and submit them for you.
- Electricity: the power supply is ordered from the organiser; we size it to your screens, lighting and equipment.
- Double-deck stands: they need signed structural calculations and specific approval from the organiser.
- Loads and safety: heavy machines require declared weights and sometimes load-spreading plates, and the stand must keep clear of the safety zones around running machines.
Ideally, book your stand builder 3–4 months before BIEMH, whether you need a compact trade show booth or a large island stand: that leaves time for 3D design, plan approval, production and ordering technical services. We build in our Barcelona workshop and ship the stand to Bilbao by road; our own crew travels to install and dismantle it, with one English-speaking project manager throughout. When and where is BIEMH held?
BIEMH is held at the Bilbao Exhibition Centre (Ronda de Azkue 1, 48902 Barakaldo, Bizkaia). It is a biennial fair: the next edition runs from 6 to 10 March 2028. Exact dates will be confirmed on the official website – get in touch and we will keep you updated.
Do you design stands for industrial fairs with heavy machinery?
Yes. We have experience with technical stands that require reinforced flooring, a correctly sized power supply and space for live demonstrations, as BIEMH demands.
How much does a stand for BIEMH cost?
The price depends on the floor space booked, the type of stand (modular or custom), materials, technical installations and transport. As a guide, a basic modular stand costs from €3,000–6,000, a mid-size custom stand €20,000–30,000, and premium stands for major international fairs can exceed €100,000. How far in advance should I order my stand?
We recommend starting ideally 3–4 months before the show, to allow time for design, production, technical installations and build-up. Shorter lead times are possible for urgent projects, but the earlier you start, the more options you have for customisation.
Do you handle transport and build-up in Bilbao?
Yes. We manage the entire project – design, production, transport to Bilbao, build-up and dismantling – in compliance with the Bilbao Exhibition Centre's regulations.
